They call it war but war has rules

This is not war it is slow destruction

Life is taxed by silence

Grief has no space to breathe

The world shuts its eyes and moves on

Justice is missing and hope goes quiet

No water to drink no food to cook

Days feel longer when your stomach is empty

Will we eat her child asked eyes dry and tired

There were no tears left only the sound of hunger

The powerful speak with lies

But a mother walks without fear

She crossed fire like light crosses shadow

Carrying wheat and her children’s hope

The wheat was light but her pain was heavy

Each memory she held was filled with loss

Even the wind said turn back

But she walked forward as if peace waited ahead

She saw machines in the sky

But her feet did not stop

Water is a past story

Food lives only in dreams
