Peace Behind Bars
The Call to Prayer Path Found in Prison
I walked in darkness, lost in the night,
A leader of gangs, always ready to fight.
No parents to guide me, no love to hold,
Just anger and pain, my heart grew cold.
I sought power in violence, but it brought me shame,
Money and fear, It all felt the same.
The streets were my home, but my soul felt hollow,
Each step I took was a path hard to follow.
One day, in prison, I heard a call,
A peaceful sound that broke through it all.
The call to prayer, so gentle and kind,
It spoke to my heart, gave peace to my mind.
I found Islam, and my life turned around,
No more hate, no need to be bound.
I let go of drugs, I let go of the fight,
Faith brought me peace, and showed me the light.
Now I walk with purpose, my heart feels whole,
Faith gave me strength and healed my soul.
Brotherhood replaced the life I once knew,
With love and belief, I started anew.
The lesson I learned, no matter how lost,
There’s always a chance to pay off the cost.
With faith in your heart, and peace in your mind,
A new path to light, you’re sure to find.
