Islamic Music: Urdu Nasheed / Naat“Har Waqt Tassawur Main Madinay Ki Gali (In My Imagination There Are Always The Hallways of Holy Madin)”
Nasheeds and Naats are popular throughout the Islamic world. Your heart becomes happy after listening to Beautiful Heart touching Nasheed.
Hello, Dear Readers and followers, welcome back to my new story, I hope all’s well. Today I will share with you guys the most popular and heart-touching Urdu Nasheed “Har Waqt Tassawur Main Madinay Ki Gali (In My Imagination There Are Always the Hallways of Holy Madin)”. This is my first post on any Islamic Nasheed and I will share with you some other beautiful Nasheed in different languages (Urdu, Arabic, and Turkish, etc.) in the future, Inshallah.
I am going to start today’s story with Darood sharif.
Nasheed:
Nasheed is a piece of Islamic music. A Nasheed (Arabic: singular نشيد nashīd, plural أناشيد anāshīd, meaning: “chants”) is a work of vocal music, partially coincident with hymns, that is either sung a cappella or with instruments, according to a particular style or tradition within Islam.
Naat:
Naat is Islamic poetry in praise of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). People who recite Naʽat are known as Naʽat Khawan or sanaʽa-khuaʽan. Commonly the term naʽat shareef (exalted poetry) is reserved for poetry in the praise of Muhammad. In Arabic, na’at is usually called madih (praise) or nasheed (poetry), although the latter can describe any type of religious poetry.
Hamd:
Exclusive “Praise to Allah” and Allah alone is called Hamd, not to be confused with ‘Na’at’.
“Allah Hoo” is also a popular title for Urdu language devotional Hamd. As a noun phrase, the chant is interpreted as meaning “God is”. , so the full dhikr translates to “God is. God is. God is Truth.”
Nasheeds and Naats are popular throughout the Islamic world. Anasheed (plural of Nasheed) is popular throughout the Islamic world and are sung in praise of Allah and Muhammad ﷺ, in various languages like Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic, Farsi, English, etc. However, the material and lyrics of a Nasheed and Naat usually make reference to Islamic beliefs, history, religious practice, etiquette, lesson, etc.
Talaʽ al Badru ʽAlayna, is a traditional Islamic poem known as nasheed recited to Muhammad during his completion of migration to Medina in 622 CE, is believed to be one of the earliest naʽats.
There are lots of poems written on Prophet Muhammad PBUH but i found a poem by Allama Iqbal:
He slept on a mat of rushes,
But the crown of Chosroes lay beneath the feet of his followers;
He chose the nightly solitude of Mount Hira,
And founded a nation, law and government;
He passed his nights with sleepless eyes,
That his Millet might sleep on Chosroes throne
In the hour of battle, iron was melted by the flash of his sword.
At prayer time, tears fell like drops of rain from his eyes.
In his prayer for Divine help, his Amen’ was a sword,
Which extirpated the lineage of kings.
He inaugurated a new Order in the world,
He brought the empires old to an end:
In his sight the high and the low were one,
He sat with the slave at table one;
He burnt clear the distinctions of birth and clan.
His fire consumed all this trash and bran.
Har Waqt Tassawur Main Madinay Ki Gali
Today I would like to share one of my favorite Naat/Nasheed with its English translation so you can easily understand its lyrics. This piece is beautiful. I hope you will like it and i will share why I am keen to listen and what is my philosophy to listen to Islamic Nasheed/Naat, Hamd, and Kalam in end.
Har Waqt Tassawur Main Madinay Ki Gali (English Translation)
In my imagination, there are always the hallways of Madina
And the constant remembering of my master (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) is always in my heart
If only, I became a Traveller to Madina
My eyes are filled with tears and would set off for Madina
If only, I would die in Madina in such a way
May my head be at your (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) blessed feet and my soul departs
Oh, Allah, Najah has only one wish,
This lover only has one desire
That at the time of death, may my head be at his (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) blessed feet
I am the beggar of my beloved Master (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) Oh! fire of hell hears this
How can he burn, who is a slave of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
Through the intercession of our master (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) surely, we will attain paradise
With the mercy of Allah (SWT) we will enter paradise
If only, we receive a place by the beloved feet of our beloved master (Prophet Muhammad PBUH)
MY Philosophy to listen to Islamic Nasheed/Naat, Hamd and Kalam:
First of all my reaction to today's Nasheed/Naat, MashAllah !! Without any exaggeration, there is inexplicable magic in this Nasheed/Naat is absolutely heart-touching and soul-touching. The lines of this Nasheed/Naat touch the heart no one can stop their tears if we don’t know the meaning as well but it touches the heart.
I always listen to Naat/Nasheed, Hamd, and Sufi Kalam on repeat mode. Whenever I want some peace I just go with it. This Nasheed/Naat reminds me of my old memories, I remember listening to this when 5 years old so heart-touching and beautiful. I always prefer the ones with vocal Nasheed or any Islamic thing and sometimes with just drum.
Islamic and Sufi poetry is always peaceful and soulful which makes us inside happy and helps to find deep soul peace and change our mindset.
The spiritual mind understands its meaning is so lovely that You don’t control your feelings and emotions and You don’t stop your tears coming out of your eyes Automatically. It has become your daily routine to listen to this. For an Islamic Nasheed/Naat, Hamd, and Sufi Kalam lover like me, this is the best music I have ever heard. I’ve been listening to this on loop.
The day people truly understand the meaning of this Nasheed/Naat or any other; we will have peace and understand the reality of life!
Most people believe and feel each time when they listen to it which inspires them every time they feel low. even I heard others’ reaction on it that Pure Islamic Nasheed/Naat, Hamd, and Sufi Kalam’s lyrics, soothe their soul and makes them deliriously in contemplation. Too powerful meaning and way of describing.
Some of my friends told me that They Lost count of how many times they may have listened to this each day. Whenever they listen their Naat/Nasheed or any Islamic thing, They feel so relaxed, so peaceful and tears from their eyes automatically comes out!
Even the Holy Qur’an says that there is peace in Zikr ( chanting/praise of Allah (SWT) and his Greatest Messenger Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Feels like our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is in front of us. May Allah (SWT) bless us all with a true love for Allah (SWT) and the greatest of all Prophets-Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Final Thoughts:
There has been a lot of talk about Islamic Naat/Nasheed/Hamd/Kalam. I have not listened to them for a long time. When they first appeared there was nothing wrong with them.
Naat/Nasheed and other Islamic music like Sufi music and poetry are indeed good to know and understand about Islam this way as well, Whereas Islamic and Sufi poetry and music like Naat/ Nasheed/ Hamd/ Kalam used to have meanings of faith and knowledge.
Islamic and Sufi poetry and music like Naat/Nasheed/Hamd/Kalam play a vital role in the upliftment of their Iman. The basic purpose of Naat / Nasheed/ Hamd/Kalam is to spread the message of Islam.
Our Prophet is our life! He is the epitome of every beauty one can think of, he is the most loved, his words are pearls, and his attributes are beyond imagination.
These are some of my favorites which I shared inside today’s post and I listen to them. Whenever I listen to them, makes me feel more peaceful every time and it became a habitual listening to this daily.
Despite our differences on so many fronts, nature is teaching us we can live together in peace and still remain beautiful. Love is the most durable power in the world. This creative force is the most potent instrument available in mankind’s quest for peace and love among different people around the world.
Whatever is written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah's Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
May Allah fill our hearts and minds with his love and blessings and guide all Muslims to the right path, the path that takes us to our destination ( Jannah)
