Gaza’s Struggle
A Poem on Indiscriminate Murder, Collective Punishment, War Crime
In Gaza’s place, where problems grow,
A story unfolds, both old and new.
Self-defense, a phrase we often hear,
Yet, war crimes persist, crystal clear.
Collective punishment, a phrase that’s haunting,
Whispers of justice, lost and daunting.
White phosphorus, a deadly rain,
Falls on homes, causing much pain.
Population transfer, a cruel decree,
Forcing families to wander, not free.
Children suffer, their innocence stained,
In a war on them, humanity pained.
Hospitals and schools, once safe and sound,
Now battlegrounds, fear all around.
Bakeries, markets, wells, and more,
Targets in an unrelenting war.
Electricity flickers, a dimming light,
Agriculture wilts in the endless fight.
Animals and humans, side by side,
Enduring a storm, where hope may hide.
Genocide’s shadow, extermination’s call,
Ethnic cleansing shadows, dark and tall.
Eradication’s echo, a chilling song,
In this conflict, where rights go wrong.
Lack of water, food, in the biting cold,
Yet another tale of the young and old.
Gaza’s struggle, an untold story,
In the face of hardship, resilience in glory.
Life and propaganda, a turbulent stream,
Like Niagara’s waters, an unyielding dream.
“Violence in Gaza,” a daily strife,
A fight for the essentials of life.
Water sought on a perilous quest,
Through deserts of unrest.
Multiple war crimes, a heavy weight,
On shoulders patiently await.
Collective punishment, a bitter taste,
Food and water cut off, in this vast space.
Displacement and cleansing, a bitter brew,
Gaza’s story, for all the world to view.
Gaza’s tale, for all the world to view.
