Today, I am going to share with you one of the most beautiful and soulful Sufi poetry which touches your heart and soul. I will try my best to explain to you what are the full meanings of this Sufi poem.

“Mustafa Jaane Rehmat Pe Lakhon Salaam”

This a Darood-o-salaam was written by Imam Ahmad Raza Khan, who was the greatest scholar of the subcontinent at that time. This a Darood-o-salaam actually about the praising of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H).

This Darood-o-salaam guided us on how to pass life to get into Jannah. each of its lines is based on the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith and along with fulfilling the compulsion of presenting Salaat and Salaam upon Allah’s Beloved.

We’ve always prayed this Darood-o-salaam after every program (mehfil: in which people together and recite poetry in the praise of Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH) in the mosque, jummah (Friday’s Prayer), and other occasions in the end.

I still remember when I was a kid, people were reciting this Darood-o-salaam after offering prayer on Friday and some people started crying listening to the Darood-o-salaam, I had no idea what's going on back then… Now as a grown man, I do.

you can check that out.

Mustafa Jaane Rehmat Pe Lakhon Salaam Lyrics (English Translation)

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon Mustafa, the epitome of mercy

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon Mustafa, the candle of the gathering of guidance

Wheresoever it fell, Life itself was revived

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon that life-bestowing gaze

Whom did he see? Let someone enquire of Moses

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the courage of one with such eyes!

Those ears which can hear from both near and from afar

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon

that mine: rubies of charismata!

How delicate the petals of that holy rose!

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the exquisiteness of those lips!

From his clustered pearls, radiate those roots of light

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the enchantment of those stars!

A mouth whose every word is divine revelation!

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the fount of knowledge and wisdom

Its water makes both spirits and gardens verdant

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the moisture of such a mouth!

From it salty wells became sweet like syrup

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon that sweet, clear, spring water!

A tongue which is known to all as the key to `Be!’

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon its effective commandments

Countless blessings upon his lovely speech

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon his heart-enticing eloquence!

Countless blessings upon the pleasure of his words!

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the majesty of his sermons

A beard around the mouth — striking loveliness!

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon that beard of the stream of mercy!

From it are flowing streams of milk and honey

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the freshness of such a throat!

The Black Stone of the Ka’aba of the heart and soul!

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the Seal of Apostleship!

No partner, sum total, matchless, unparalled!

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon this unique, solitary pearl!

The arm oblivious to the weight of both worlds

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the power of such an arm!

Two pillars of the Ka’aba of Faith, Religion

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the two wrists of Prophethood

Wherever his hand was raised he made others rich

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the waves of this Sea of Bounty

Fountains of light do cascade, and rivers flow out

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the miracle of the fingers!

Your heart is beyond my knowledge but I shall say this:

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the bud holding secrets of Oneness!

The world’s his dominion yet he eats barley bread!

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the contentedness of that stomach!

It was tightened with the intention of Intercession

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the protection of that waist!

Messengers do bend their knees in their presence

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the dignity of such knees!

Antiquity: his essence’s stem; grace: his palm tree’s branch

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the candle of the Straight Path!

The Qur’an gave an oath by the dust of thy path!

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the reverence of such a foot!

The shadow of mercy of his shadowless stature

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon that extended, kindly shadow!

The heads of the rulers remain bowed before it

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon the crown on his towering head!

Dew from Truth’s garden: beads of sweat from his face

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon his pure veracious brilliance!

Fragrant blessings be upon such delicate fragrance!

A hundred thousand blessings of peace be upon such lovely, lovely refinement!

My spiritual connection with Sufi poetry & music:

I’ve always been attracted to this kind of Sufi music which we call Naat or Nasheed and Kalaam. I can’t stop my emotions while listening to Sufi kalaam especially this kalaam it feels great and find inner peace and happiness when I listen to this Naat or Kalaam and Dhikr. And now it is my habit for this kind. I have a spiritual connection with every Sufi music recited by emotional voice by talented people. Sufi poetry always peaceful and soulful which makes us inside happy and helps to find deep soul peace and change our mindset.

Final Thoughts:

This is a way to Parise our Prophet Muhammad ( P.B.U.H ) in almost every mosque after every program, jummah (Friday’s Prayer), and other occasions in the end. This is not only of interest to those who recite and hear this Darood-o-salaam but to all those who have a genuine interest in increasing their love for the Prophet.

We Muslims believe that Our Lives our wealth We can Sacrifice everything on his Name.

Just a reminder to non-Muslims. “ Islam doesn’t cause division amongst humanity. In fact, It unites people together”.
