A Picture of You Sitting Before Me

A Poetic Journey Across 5,711.9 km and 341 Days

In Aydin, where the sunsets glow,

And Islamabad, where the cool winds blow,

We’re separated by miles, a journey begun,

Yet in my heart, your presence holds.

5,711.9 km, 341 days,

Of owl flights and distant ways,

I sit alone, yet not alone,

For thoughts of you, like stars, are sown.

I yearn to speak, to bridge the space,

But silence reigns in this quiet place.

I’ll paint a picture in my mind,

Of you, sitting here, so kind.

I love you, though words don’t fly,

Across the miles that stretch the sky.

My heart gently prays for your care,

Hoping somehow you’ll become aware.

You’re my inner peace, my guiding light,

In the darkness, you shine so bright.

I hide my love from prying eyes,

But in my heart, your presence lies.

You’ve come like spring, a welcome tune,

In my heart, you’ve found your room.

No matter the distance, you stay near,

In my thoughts, you’re always here.

So let me hold this image tight,

Of you, sitting in my sight.

Though miles apart, our love still sings,

Of distant hearts with matching wings.
